So pull out your cowboy/cowgirl outfit, shirt or blue jeans, wear your cowboy hat and dust off your boots to celebrate being a Texan! But please remember to follow free dress day guidelines.
Due to Mock STAAR Testing next week beginning Tuesday, February 20th – Friday, February 23rd, we will have a closed campus. There will be no lunch visitors during all lunch periods. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this time.
In observation of President’s Day Monday, February 19th is a student holiday and staff development day.
Harmony School of Science – Austin is sharing this information about the district and your child’s campus with you as part of its obligations under the federal No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB). Class Pictures and Fall Re-takes are scheduled for Wednesday, January 31st. Everyone come to school with a smile and happy faces! This is a school uniform picture day.
As we get ready for another semester of the Mad Science After School Club, we’d like to present a presentation for our students. Mad Science will be on our campus for a morning of Science fun and STEM activities. HSS-Austin students will have an opportunity to view a few projects and possibly be able to assist the Scientists as well. Don’t forget to be present for school and on time.
We will have our Jump Rope for Heart Assembly on Monday, January 29th
The Harmony School of Science-Austin Robotics Team will compete in the First Lego League Robotics Competition on Saturday, January 27th. The competition will take place at Harmony School of Innovation – Waco, Tx. Our campus would like to wish them all good luck on their competition.
In accordance with the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented students, Harmony Public Schools will begin taking nominations for all interested students in grades 1-12 for gifted and talented screening. Anyone interested in the educational welfare of these students may nominate them for assessment.
Nomination forms are available at the front office, or may be downloaded below. The forms must be returned to the front office by Friday, February 9, 2018. Assessment will begin on Monday, February 5, 2018. For more information about the screening and identification process, parents may contact the school’s GT Coach/teacher.

Due to the Snow Day on Friday, December 8th the Spelling Bee has been rescheduled to Friday, January 5th at 8:30am after the Winter Break. Good luck to the competing students!
Our Winter Break begins on Wednesday, December 20th. All staff members will return for Staff Development on Wednesday, January 3, 2018. All students will return Thursday, January 4, 2018.
